Suddenly it was 8pm, I was still working, and hadn't gone out of my way to help anyone yet today! I found some ideas from a website: www.helpothers.org and one of them was to tape up the exact change needed to buy a pop onto the pop machine with a note that says something nice. So I went to the break room at work and taped 3 quarters up with a note that said "Buy a soda on me".
Hopefully the janitors will use it tonight or another employee will use it tomorrow. Actually, I hope people won't be afraid thinking they will be on candid camera or some sort of office prank if they take the quarters down :) I'll let you know if they're still up tomorrow afternoon.
Then I was at the gas station on my way home and tipped the attendant $1 when he was done. He gave me a very big smile and a gracious "thank you". I don't think the gas station attendants get tipped as much as they should. Even one dollar is not much, but they appreciate it.
